Ce guide est d’abord un compagnon. Il s’adresse aux acteurs de terrain, concepteurs et animateurs d’actions d’éducation au développement et à la solidarité internationale (ead-si).

About EDUCASOL

The French platform EDUCASOL was installed in 2004 by 22 associations of International solidarty which dealt with developement education and international solidarity purposes (EAD-SI). Today 29 associations are members of the platform and some other associations are applying to take part of it. Since 3 years, this platform has been financed half by the French ministry of the Foreign Affairs and half by its adherent members. EAD-SI is its main activity. Among the purposes, the platform developed since 3 years, the advocacy has an important place. Moreover, Another important objetif of the platform is the experience and teaching aid sharing

Who is this advocacy for ?

It is for the public authorities and more particulary for the ministries who work whit the EAD-SI, that meens the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of National Education, the ministry for youth, sports and community life and the Ministry of agriculture and fishing, (the international cooperation is included into the tasks of the agricultural teaching). In France, since 1982, the local councils acqured the competence to lead international actions thanks to the decentralized co-operation.

What does this advocacy defend ?

- It defends an increase of the financing dedicated to the EAD-SI, a greater recognition of the EAD-SI as a way of social changes.

- The consistency of actions installed by the various ministries concerning EAD-SI and the dialogue between these ministries for the installation of these actions.

- The integration of the EAD-SI in the missions of the general education.

- The integration of the EAD-SI (without making a new discipline) in the initial training of the teachers.

- The reinforcement of the International Solidarity Week as an important time of the EAD-SI, in dialogue with the European days of the development

Today, the various ministries quoted above decided to reinforce the EAD-SI within the framework of an Interdepartmental plan : the International solidarity week is highlighted, for the first time the Ministry of the Foreign affairs organised an event during the week on the topic of the international co-operation of the young people, the Ministry of the National Education wrote in close dialogue with the French Platform the official Bulletin (BO) the teaching instructions highlighting the importance of the EAD-SI in the training of the pupils. The BO was elaborate in collaboration with the Ministry for Youth, sports and community life and the Ministry of Agriculture and Fishing. In 2007, the Ministry for Foreing Affairs decided to increase the amounts dedicated for French ONG.

For the year 2007 and the next triennial of the French Platform, education will remain the priority. The code of good practices will be nationally readjusted, diffused within the associations of International Solidarity and re-appropriated by the french platform. Moreover, the platform will look for the ways of collaborating with the local authorities. The other important platform work axes ("training", "mutualisation, sharing experience and teaching tools" and "dialogue between campaigns of EAD-SI) Will be certainly developed.
